About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Vienna within the Restaurant Team in Vienna, the Commis de Rang is responsible for various duties. The Commis de Rang reports to the Assistant restaurant manager and restaurant manager.

As a Commis de Rang, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Understanding of the concept: You have a good understanding of the restaurant's concept as well as the offered food and beverages and can verbally explain these to our guests.
• Mise en place: You ensure that all preparations for the service (mise en place) are completed both before and during the shift to ensure efficient operations.
• POS system: You operate the POS system correctly to capture food and beverage orders.
• Guest-oriented service: You deliver service based on the guests' preferences, ensuring friendly, attentive, and efficient service.
• Up-selling: You actively sell our products and services to increase revenue while enhancing the service experience.
• Payment processing: You process MOHG gift cards and other cashless payment methods, and handle billing according to standards and guidelines.
• Food presentation: You ensure that all dishes are presented in accordance with hotel standards and food and beverage specifications.
• Equipment maintenance: You ensure that restaurant equipment and tableware remain in excellent condition.
• Inventory management: You assist with collecting and organizing necessary supplies such as linens, beverages, and dry goods.
• Product knowledge: You always keep your knowledge of the food and beverage offerings up to date.
• Special guest requests: You inform management and kitchen colleagues about special guest preferences or allergies.

• Creating WOW moments: You surprise and delight guests with special gestures and moments.
• Customer satisfaction: You ensure that guests are satisfied from the moment they arrive until their departure with exceptional service, in line with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs) and the MOHG pillars.
• Guest preferences: You capture and communicate guest preferences to supervisors and act accordingly as soon as they are known.

The collective minimum gross monthly salary for this position is €2.330,00. There is a willingness to offer a higher salary depending on qualifications and work experience.
